Fingerprint Friday

There is a song by Steven Curtis Chapman that says:
I can see the fingerprints of god
When I look at you
I can see the fingerprints of god
And I know its true
You're a masterpiece
That all creation quietly applauds
And you're covered with the fingerprints of god
So look around you and see where YOU can see God's fingerprints. Is it in nature? Kids? Animals? Where do you see them?

Yesterday when it was a balmy 28 degrees, Matthew and I played outside.
Then Daddy came home and gave Matthew a tractor ride-See previous post here.
Not sure what they were looking at but it must have been interesting.

My two "Fingerprint of God"
I am so blessed!

Tractor Ride

Matthew loves the tractor!  I put him on the seat just to play for a few mintures!
After playing a couple minutes Daddy came home and gave Matthew a tractor ride.

Playing Outside

I'm loving this weather!
I know that it still isn't the warmest but we have still been getting outside a bit.
We don't stay out to long because neither Matthew nor I have boots.
It was in the high 20's today.
Matthew loves walking down the driveway with me to get the mail.
Can you see his footprints behind him?
Looks around and investigates everything.
It is pretty hard to get him to look at the camera when he is outside.
He doesn't like the gloves either.  So I have to put them on before I put the coat on.  That way he has to work really hard to get them off and usually he doesn't try because it is to hard.

More Pictures

Our little climber was standing on his train today singing!
Just being his cute self!
Showing me his nose!  He is learning his body parts!  He likes to show everyone where their eyes are.  (Really I think he just likes to poke people in the eye!  Hehehe, he is silly!)
We can't believe how big he is getting and especially how smart he is!  We have been trying to write down the words that he knows and uses. (We have quite a list going!)
I think it is so extremely cute when he says "Hiney".

Not Me! Monday!

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.

I certainly did not let my son chew on this cord!  And I most definitely did not let him continue chewing on it just so that I could snap this picture of  him.

I'm just not the kind of mother that would pretend to not see that her son was chewing of this chalk line case just to try my new photography skills.

Curious George

Curious George was at our local mall today.
We got Matthew dressed up in his Curious George shirt and off we went.
Curious George singing with the kids.
Our tired boy after seeing Curious George.
Wow!  There were a lot of people at the mall today to see Curious George.
The line was so long to get a picture taken with George that we decided to skip a picture with George.

Matthew and Emma

Our Tuesday night tradition for the last 6 + years has been to have dinner with Scott's sister Kyra.  It started out as us going out to Taco Tuesday at Taco John's and then we each took turns picking a place to eat.  Now we usually have dinner at our house or occassionally we go out.
Last night after dinner, Matthew and Emma were playing.  Emma pretended to be asleep and Matthew was waking her up.

Look closely at the picture-particular at Matthew's feet.
Do you see that he was one sock on and one sock off?
We always say that he is regulated!
You know one sock on to keep him warm and one sock off to cool him down.
90% of the time, this is how you will find him.

Look and Remember

Look at how his eyes light up when he smiles.

Happy

He has been mostly happy this week!
See all the drool spots on his shirt!?

Monday was a tough day for us though in the afternoon that is.  We had a great time in school.  At naptime, Matthew slept for about half an hour and then woke up screaming.  I went into his room and tried rocking him, I tried snuggling on the couch with him, I tried giving him a drink, I tried a snack but nothing worked.  The crying lasted about an hour.  Even talking to daddy on the phone didn't help much.  Then finally i put the movie CARS in and it was like a switch turned off and he was happy.  He jabbered about the movie, ate his snack, had something to drink and was happy.  He was definitely a tired toddler Monday night.  He surprised me Monday night.  He was busy playing and then came over with his phone and wanted up.  I picked him up and we played with the phone for a few minutes and then he fell asleep in my arms.  I, of course, had to snuggle him for a long time since he never wants to snuggle with me when daddy is home.

The only thing that I can think of was that his tooth that is trying to work it's way out was bothering him or he maybe had a tummy ache.

Sleeping with His Blankie

Since Matthew no longer has his nukkie to comfort him at night, he has moved onto a blankie.
This blankie he got from his Gramma G and Sebastian.
He loves this blankie.
When he wakes up in the morning it comes out of the crib with him.  Sometimes during the day if he needs a relaxing minute or even when he is watching Sesame Street, he lays on the floor with his blankie in hand.
I just think it is so darn cute how he sleeps with his feet underneath him.
He sometimes is a hard sleeper but sometimes a little sleeper.
Some days when we have to wake him up for church or school, he wakes up a soon as you open the door and other days, he sleeps through anything.  This morning, I went in, opened his shade, opened his closet doors, picked out his clothes, closed the closet doors, went out got the camera, spoke loudly to Scott to have him come take a peek, took a few pictures and he slept through it all.  I finally got him to wake up when I started rubbing his back.

Happy Valentine's Day!!

Rocking Chair

Matthew's Papa brought this little rocking chair over for him the other day.
This little rocking chair was Scott's rocking chair when he was little from his grandpa.
Matthew moves the chair all over the living room to get a better view of Sesame Street while sitting in it.
**************************************
Don't  look to close at the last picture because you will probably see snot.
Matthew started getting a runny nose on Wednesday.
He is working on another tooth on the top so at first we thought that is what was causing the runny nose.
But as the week has progressed, we believe that it is a cold.

Before and After

Before:
After:
He was such a big boy.
He sat in the chair so nice.
He was so good, he got a treat.
He was being a little silly too(with M & M drool)!
I'm sure you figured out by now that he got his hair cut.
My wonderful friend Cheryl cut his hair and did an awesome job.
Thanks Cheryl!
I can't believe how fast his hair grows.
He just had it trimmed about 2 weeks ago and it was almost in his eyes again.

Air Guitar

Matthew playing his air guitar while watching the half time.
It was so cute!
The pictures just don't do his air guitar justice!

Dinner with Sebastian

Last night we went to dinner with Sebastian at Buffalo Wild Wings.
It was Sebastian's birthday about a week ago so we were treating him to dinner.
Matthew had lots of fun and even gave out kisses to everyone.
Matthew also enjoyed some of Sebastian's pop.  It started out with Matthew playing with the straw and then he realized that there was something in the glass.

Movie of Helping Daddy Mud

Daddy will definitely be doing some extra sanding!

Do you think that he had fun?

Look at the mudding hands!

We also have mud tracked up the stairs and on the vinyl in the entry way.

He had fun and that is all that matters!

These two beautiful fingerprints of God were visiting our feeder this morning.
It is not very often that the pair of cardinals come in together.
When Scott said that the cardinal was out there, right away our little fingerprint of God ran to look out the window like he knew what Daddy was saying.  Luckily they didn't fly away so that I could get the beautiful picture of them.
Our little fingerprint that is growing way to fast and getting way to smart.  He loves to watch Sesame Street!  It is even cutier listening to him say Sesame Street.
His vocabulary is growing right along with him.  It is so fun to listen to him talk.

Matthew and the Cat

For those of you who don't know our cat, this is not normal!
Usually our cat hisses and snarls at almost everyone especially Matthew.
Matthew actually got to touch her and "hug" her.
You can tell that she is not really happy to let Matthew touch her but she is tolerating it.
(I think because Scott is holding her.  She is Scott's cat.)

Beater

I always use the mixer when I make mashed potatoes.
Matthew loves potatoes so he thoroughly enjoys licking the beaters.
(PS Look at how good his chapped lip looks and it has only been 5 days without his nukkie)
Trying really hard to get it all in.
He even wanted to share with me.
He had it pretty clean when he gave it back to me.

Class

Matthew and I had lots of fun at our ECFE (Early Childhood Family Education) class today.
Matthew is such a busy body that circle time/reading time was tough.  He just wanted to check everything out.  When it was play time, I think he played with everything in the classroom.
We painted a bubble wrap snowman and pressed it on our paper and added eyes, nose and button.
We didn't bring it home today but when we do I will take a picture of it and post it.
I am the oldest mom there which made me feel really old today.

Bed Hair

Yesterday afternoon when Matthew woke up from his nap, he had some crazy bed hair!
