Gerber Biter Biscuits

This afternoon I gave Matthew a Gerber Biter Biscuit. They are little graham cracker flavor cookies that gets pretty guey when drooled on. They are very messy and he went right in the tub after he was done. He definitely enjoyed it!

Daddy & Matthew Video

Matthew giggles over the funniest things. He is also very ticklish especially his tummy, sides and back. Occassionally you get get his feet but not like his sides. He has been a happy baby the last couple of days. Today he has been an eating machine. I think he is going through a growth spurt.

Juice out of a Regular Glass

So Matthew got thristy after he was done eating his bacon.
Above picture: Check out the drool or juice coming off the bottom of the glass.

Scott digging out the floaties after Matthew was done. You can also see the baby food that Matthew did not want to eat because the bacon was so much tastier.

Baconnator

Now that Matthew sits in the high chair at the table he thinks that he needs to eat whatever it is that we are eating. I was trying to give him some granola and pears baby food this morning when he seen us eating bacon. We decided to let him try it.Notice above the drool on his chin. He is our little baconnator!
Still eating away on the bacon.
Using the whole fist!
This is Matthew after Daddy took the bacon away because the pieces were just to small!

This is what is left of the piece of bacon.

High Chair Time

Last night, we decided to see how Matthew would do in the high chair. It is the type that clamps to the table. He loved it. We still need to sit right by him because he likes to slide from one side to the other. He is all fingers when he sits in it and wants anything that we are eating.
The picture above he has a fruit puff in his hand. He doesn't have the pinching down yet with the finger and thumb so he just grabs and tries to put his whole fist in his mouth. Usually the fruit puff falls out of his hand before it gets to the mouth.

Birth Certificate

We finally got Matthew's birth certificate in the mail today. It was exactly 1 month ago today that we finalized Matthew's adoption. My how the time flies! I think that he is getting bigger by the minute.

He woke up from his nap today crying hard so I picked him up to soothe him and he just kept crying so I called Scott. I put it on speaker phone but as soon as Matthew heard it, he was quiet. He ended up falling back to sleep in my arms and is dreaming lots and snoring. What a funny boy!

Fingerprint Friday

I can see the fingerprints of God
When I look at you
I can see the fingerprints of God
And I know its true
Youre a masterpiece
That all creation quietly applauds
And you're covered with the fingerprints of God
So look around you and see where YOU can see God's fingerprints. Is it in nature? Kids? Animals? Where do you see them?
Our Little Cookie Monster

Last night after dinner, we had a couple Girl Scout cookies for dessert. Scott set his on the table to take a drink of milk and our little cookie monster decided that he wanted it. He had that cookie to his mouth faster than Scott could even react. As you can see, Matthew enjoyed that cookie. He is all fingers when he is sitting at the table with us.
Definitely covered with God's fingerprints!

Sleep

Last night was a rough night. Matthew fell asleep really well and Scott put him in his crib around 10:30 pm. Around 11:30, Matthew started crying so I got up and gave him his nuk which usually puts him back to sleep. He wouldn't take it so I picked him up and rocked him. Out in no time but I rocked him just a little longer to make sure he was sleeping. When I put him into the crib it lasted long enough for me to crawl into bed and almost get comfy. Needless to say, we ended up sleeping on the couch most of the night. I tried to put him back in his crib around 3:30 am with not much luck. We were back on the couch by 3:45 am. He is a little stuffed up and a little bit of a runny nose.

I remember when our niece Emma was teething. She always got stuffed up and had a runny nose just before her teeth came in.

Plus Matthew has not had much of an appetite lately so I am thinking that he will probably have teeth REAL soon!

I am just hoping that he will sleep in the crib tonight because I didn't sleep very good on the couch.

Hope everyone has a splendid day!

Spitting

This video was taken on Friday when Scott got home early. Scott worked lots of hours last week so Matthew was very excited to see him. Spitting is Matthew's new thing especially when he is mad. When he is mad, he will cry and then put his head down and start spitting really hard. He will not let me get it on video. Matthew also loves the cat. He squeels when she comes close to him. Our cat is very tempermental and is just starting to getting used to Matthew. Yesterday when we were sitting on the couch, our cat jumped up on my lap while Matthew was on Scott's lap, Sophie (our cat) actually let Matthew pull her tail and she didn't growl. After a few times, Sophie got annoyed and jumped down.

Pictures

This is Matthew and his cousin Emma. She stayed over night on Saturday and was helping Scott feed Matthew on Sunday morning while I was getting ready for church. This is my nephew, Austin. On Friday, we went to my mom's house and Austin came over and Matthew loves him.
Austin is a little jealous of Matthew but he wanted to play with Matthew. He even wanted Matthew to ride on his trike with him.
Grandma Lucy and Matthew. My mom loves her two grandsons.
In this picture is Matthew and Aidan. Aidan is my friend Lori's son. I watch him every other Thursday. Aidan loves to play with the toy in the picture and Matthew loves to watch the colors spin. If you watch it to long you get dizzy.

Food and Family

We have moved onto #2 baby food. The doctor gave us the okay when we were in for Matthew's 6 month check up. Matthew sure has not had an appetite lately though except for yesterday he had an appetite. We were even up at 3 am this morning and he wanted to eat. I am thinking that Saturday he wasn't feeling well or maybe the teeth were hurting. No teeth are coming thru yet.

We had a wonderful weekend! Scott was home most of the weekend except for a few hours on Saturday when he was helping his brother, Kyle, cut down a tree. Matthew and I also went to Kyle's and I helped make breakfast for them. Sunday we spent the day together. We even got a nap in while Matthew was napping. Actually Scott and Matthew got some play time together while I napped and then Scott was able to nap after Matthew went down for a nap. Matthew seemed to want to sleep alot yesterday. He took 4 naps yesterday.

I will post pictures later this afternoon when Matthew is taking a nap! I got some cute ones of him and Scott.

Fingerprint Friday

There is a song by Steven Curtis Chapman that says:
The picture below is my mom holding Matthew!
I can see the fingerprints of God
When I look at you
I can see the fingerprints of God
And I know it's true
You're a masterpiece
That all creation quietly applauds
And you're covered with the fingerprints of God
So look around you and see where YOU can see God's fingerprints. Is it in nature? Kids? Animals? Where do you see them?

Today Matthew and I spent the day this my mom. We had lots of fun! Grandma likes to spoil Matthew. We even got to see Austin, my nephew. When he walked into Grandma's house the first thing he said was Baby, Baby. That is what he calls Matthew. Austin will be 2 in April.

He is so peaceful when he sleeps! He is so VERY precious!

St Patrick's Day

Happy St. Patrick's Day!
Matthew's first St Patrick's Day. His shirt says Baby's 1st St. Patrick's Day. He also had a bib that said the same thing but it got pretty yucky this evening.

Hope everyone had a great day!

Walk

Yesterday was a wonderful day here in Brainerd. It was 54 degrees and very sunny! I decided to take Matthew on a walk yesterday. Our driveway is very muddy still so I didn't want to push the stroller through the mud so I used the SnugRider. When we got to the end of the driveway, the neighbor was also going for a walk so we walked with her. It was the first time that I had met her and we had a great conversation. On our way back, the wind was taking Matthew's breath away so I decided to turn him so he was facing me. Well he ended up falling asleep. It is very hard to take a sleeping baby out of the SnugRider and a snowsuit without waking him up. I was able to do it and he took a great nap. Matthew and I are hoping to get out again today since it will be another gorgeous day!

Hope everyone has a wonderful day!

Yesterday

Yesterday we had a fun filled day! We watched our friend's 3 kids.
This is Ethan and Matthew.
Matthew was intrigrued with Eric (who is 4 years old). Matthew always grabbed his hand.
This is Emily (She is in the 3rd grade)getting a ride of the tractor (actually she is steering it while Scott used all the pedals). She even helped Scott plow or move some snow.
Eric was just outside observing them on the tractor. He didn't want to ride on the tractor. We did get him to sit on the tractor so that I could get a picture.
This is Ethan. He is 5 days younger than Matthew (He was suppose to be older than Matthew). He and Matthew had lots of fun. He rolled circles around Matthew though.
We had lots of fun!

The above picture was taken the day Matthew was born.
He weighed 5 lbs 14 oz and was 18 1/2" long.

This picture was taken yesterday(6 months old).
As of today, Matthew weighs 16 lbs and is 25" long. He is the happiest baby and definitely spoiled. What a true blessing he is to us!

Good Mood

Matthew was in a good mood today and he actually took good naps today. He usually takes 3 naps per day. Yesterday he only wanted to sleep 1/2 hour to 45 minutes each nap when usually it is 1 to 2 hours at a time.

I hope he sleeps good tonight. The last couple of times from 11:30 to 1:30 I have had to get up and give him his nuk about every 1/2 hour. Last night I was so tired that I almost brought him to the bassinet to sleep so he would be closer and I wouldn't have to get up but when I thought about it, he didn't wake up again until morning.

Sippy Cup

Today while we were eating dinner Matthew kept trying to grab our glass. When he got it he put it right to his mouth so we got out a sippy sup. He did really good with it. He just couldn't get it tipped up to get any out. So Scott had to help a little bit.

I love this smile! I think he is glad that daddy is home. Matthew had been grumpy today until Scott got home. I think he is missing Scott a bit. Scott has been working LOTS of hours the last couple of weeks and we haven't seen him much.

6 months Old

Matthew is already a 1/2 year old today! He is just growing WAY to fast! It is awesome how much he has learned in just 6 months and how much I know he will continue to learn the rest of his life. We can't imagine life without him. He has and always will bring us much joy and happiness.

Giggling

Matthew was in a really good mood today! I was just making funny noises at him and he was giggling.

Sitting up

Matthew is getting really good at sitting up and he can't sit long by himself. He either falls off to the side or falls forward. He have it mastered before we know it.The book in this picture is Matthew's favorite toy.

Walk

Matthew and I went for a very short walk today since it was nice out. He is not crazy about being bundled up in his snowsuit. And of course when we were at the end of the driveway he puked and I didn't have anything with us so I did want any other mother would, I used my coat sleeve. Whatever works!

It amazes me how much Matthew changes and learns every day. Look at the concentration! He is playing with a toy chick that chirps that Grammie and Papa bought for him. At one point yesterday when it fell on the floor, I went to pick it up and it was wet from drool. He has been drooling a lot the last few days and has been a very tiny bit grumpy and not wanting to take naps during the day which I am thinking could only mean one thing: TEETHING!

New Word and Toy

Matthew learned a new word. Guess what it is? Yep, Dadadadada. He loves his daddy very much. I can tell when Scott works lots of hours during the week because Matthew gets grumpy, but as soon as Scott gets home, Matthew is as happy as can be.

Grammie and Papa bought Matthew a little chick (a toy not a real one) that chirps when you touch the contacts on the bottom. I don't know how Matthew can get that little chick to chirp but he is fascinated with it and I don't think that it has stopped chirping since I gave it to him. Matthew gets really mad when he drops it on the floor.

Daddy's Kisses

Matthew loves kisses. Scott was kissing him all over his face and Matthew would giggle.
What a Happy Boy!

My wonderful husband and son!
