Water Park Fun with Cousins

We have been trying really hard to get together with the cousins to go to the water park.
We finally were able to get together on Friday for an afternoon of swimming.
I was really surprised how brave Matthew was in the water.
Last summer, he wanted nothing to do with swimming at the beach.  He only wanted to play in the sand.
Maybe he was just showing off to his bigger girl cousins.
Of course, he needed mommy to catch him on the slide.
The slide on the right was a little bit faster than the one of the left due to the shape/curve of it.
He did go down the one of the left by himself while I stood up on top and watched.
His favorite thing to do was to stick his hands in the spraying water and make it go everywhere.
Then all of a sudden, he had to go potty!
Off we ran!
It was hard trying to run and take a wet life jacket off a wet boy but we made it in time!
Matthew and his 3 older girl cousins.
Levi was with us too but he was already in dry clothes when we decided to take this picture.
Climbing up the net ladder.
Trying the other side of the slide.
Just looking up at Daddy!
Least Daddy can get a picture of him looking!
Trying to venture out into the pool at the end without his life jacket.
A life jacket is a must in these kiddie pools.
We tried at first without a life jacket.
It only lasted about 2 minutes before I was a basket case and needed him to wear a life jacket.

For several days since swimming, Matthew keeps asking about going swimming again.
Soon!
Very Soon!
We will be able to get his small swimming pool set up at our "NEW" house!!!!
We are very excited!
We close on our new house in 2 weeks!
It will be a couple months before we move because our new house needs a little bit of a remodel.
We also get to set up Matthew's turtle sandbox that he has had since his first birthday but has never been able to play in because we moved to this little apartment and it went to storage!

Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve was a relaxing day!
I had did all my food prep the day before so we could have a relaxing morning.
We went to one of the Christmas Eve services at church.
An annual tradition at church is singing Silent Night by candlelit.  Matthew was mesmerized by the candle flame.
After church we went to Grammie and Papa's for Oyster stew and lots of other yummy food.
Then we opened gifts!
Matthew got some new jammies!
Some farm legos!
A "Frank" combine from the Disney movie Cars.
(Did you know that Disney Cars 2 is coming June 2011?)
A John Deere tractor!
Playing with "Frank"
Our nephew Levi hamming it up for the camera!
Our niece Emma waiting to open her last present (a new bike)!
We also found out that Emma and Levi are going to have a baby brother or sister due in June!

Train Ride in Duluth

I am sorry that I am so late on getting this posted but on Monday night last week, I got sick with what I thought was the flu.  On Tuesday, Scott and I ended up spending 5 hours in the ER.  I was diagnosed with Vertigo.  I just started feeling better on Sunday and am pretty much feeling like my old self again.

On Sunday, September 26, we went to Duluth  for a train ride.  We were on the train for a total of about 4 hours.  It was about a 2 hour ride to Two Harbors, 2 hour layover and then 2 hours ride back to Duluth.
The train engine was a 1957 locomotive that was original used on the iron range.
We got to see inside the engine.
Do you see us?
Our first train ride!
Matthew loves trains and he talked about going for a train ride for days.
I think he was a little tired from our drive to Duluth.
Getting ready to go!
A ship we seen from the train in the Duluth harbor.
One of the train cars had big openings with gates that you could look and lean out to take awesome pictures like this!
A river that we passed!
We had a wonderful tour guide to told us all about the scenery/landmarks that we passed!
Do you see the guy fishing down there?
Some colorful scenery!
Do you see Lake Superior in the background?
Another creek/river that we passed!
It sure is beautiful country.
We had to stop at these lights to get clearance from Two Harbors to continue on the track.
Light beacon in Two Harbors.
A ship back out in Two Harbors!
Do you see it?
Closer look at the light beacon!
Matthew had a blast and talked about everything he seen!!!
Back in Duluth, we passed another train on the rail next to us!
A view between the 2 trains.
I know I take weird pictures but I thought it was cool.
The lift bridge!
The view from the train!
After our train ride, we headed to Canal Park to the lift bridge for a little bit before we headed home.
As we were getting out of the vehicle, we noticed the lift bridge was going up and this is the ship that was headed out!
Look at how tiny that sailboat looks compared to that ship!
Then Grammie and Papa rented this cool bike for a quick few spins around the boardwalk.

Adam and Kyra took the kids for a spin!
Levi had to stay with us!
He is such a happy boy!
Then Grammie and Papa took the kids for a spin.
Both kids were cold and shivering for they got wrapped up in Scott and my coats!
Scott and I
Matthew was with Grammie and Papa on the bike!
He had so much fun on the bike even though he was so cold!
Our freezing cold baby after his ride!
The lighthouse at the end of the pier!
Another family photo!
We had so much fun!
I hope we go again next year!!
