2nd Cousin

On Saturday, we took a little 2 1/2 hour drive to see this little cutie!

Baby Lauren born on September 24th at 12:46 p.m. weighing in at 5 lbs 4 oz and 17 1/2" long.
She is Matthew's second cousin.
(Scott's first cousin's baby)

I loved her up a lot while we were there.

Fingerprint Friday

There is a song by Steven Curtis Chapman that says:
I can see the fingerprints of God
When I look at you
I can see the fingerprints of God
And I know its true
You're a masterpiece
That all creation quietly applauds
And you're covered with the fingerprints of God
So look around you and see where YOU can see God's fingerprints. Is it in nature? Kids? Animals? Where do you see them?

Labor Day Fun

It's a late post but here is our fun from Labor Day:
We went to visit Paul Bunyan Land!
Here are some pictures:
Paul Bunyan is 26' tall and he greets everyone by name. He even remembered Matthew and Emma everytime that we walked by him.
As you can see Matthew and Emma were terrified of Paul.
Don't we look so little on his big boot?
Emma and Matthew on their first ride.
There were a few rides that Matthew couldn't go on because he was not tall enough.
He wasn't very happy about that either.
Matthew and I spent quite a bit of time on the carousel.
Emma hung onto the pole for dear life but was brave enough to go on other rides like the rocket ship, Ferris wheel and the roller coaster.
The Frog Hopper
Matthew loved this ride.  It went up and bounced down and then back up to repeat again.
Emma and I on the Tilt-a-Whirl.
Matthew was to little to go on this one.
We went on a little train ride.
Matthew and Emma got to sit in the engineer's seat for a picture.
Matthew investigating all the buttons.
Having more fun on some other rides.
Matthew and Emma
Just a smiling.
They went on this one LOTS!
Look at that happy face.
We got to feed the horse.
Matthew and I on the carousel again.
One more time sitting on Paul's boot and he was still scared.  Emma did better this time.
We had lots of fun!
It was the perfect weather-not to hot and not to cold!
We were leaving just as it started to rain.

Chicken

I just had to share this super cute video of Matthew.

Why he thinks it's chicken is beyond me.  I corrected him several times but he just says chicken louder.

Just in case you can't tell what it is because he is moving it to much: It is bacon!

Air Show/Airplane Ride

Today we went to an air show at the local airport.  There were (5) T-6 air craft from World War 2.
Matthew had lots of fun!
He was giving thumbs up watching all the air craft!
Watching the Military Blackhawk helicopter come in for a landing!
The Blackhawk helicopter
Right after the Blackhawk shut down and we started walking over to it, Matthew freaked out for a couple minutes but then he was fine to look in it.
Matthew even got to sit in the Blackhawk!
Watching the airshow and showing us where the airplanes where flying.
V formation!
The smoke!
It was an awesome air show!
Matthew got to ride on Daddy's shoulder lots today!
Another fly over!
Just before our airplane ride!
I don't have any pictures of us loading the airplane but as soon as I get some from my father in law, I will show you a few more pictures.
So cute, sitting there trying to look out the window.
Aunt K went with us too!
Daddy getting ready to our ride.
Emma went too!
He was pretty excited and was squeeling!
He could see the higher things moving by as we taxied down the runway.
After we got up, the pilot whose name was Kai, let Scott take Matthew out of the seatbelt so that he would see out the window.  He was glued to the window!
One of the few pictures that I got from the air.
Matthew did great on the ride but me on the other hand, WOW it was a LONG ride.
I didn't lose my lunch but I sure felt like I could.  It helped that I had some cool air blowing on me the whole time.  Scott asked me shortly into our flight how I was and I said ok and after that the pilot kept an eye on me.
This picture is of some of the area lakes.
The lake in the bottom of the picture is North Long Lake, the lake in the middle is Round Lake, the one on the left side of the picture just off of Round Lake is Hole In The Day (which is part of Gull Lake), and the other one just behind Round Lake is Gladestone Lake (It is the one that it looks like it is pointing toward the highway).
I had to take a picture of the runway because I was so happy to see it again.
I was glad that we were almost back on the ground.
We had a great time!
But next time I think that I will stay on the ground and let them go flying!

More Birthday Pictures

Remember back in June when I showed you a picture and asked you what I was doing?
Click here for a review of the photo from June.
I was working on everything for Matthew's birthday party.
Here are some pictures of my finished project and some more pictures from his birthday party on Friday night:
The Invitation:
See how the invitation says park?
Well you will notice that we didn't have the party at the park.
The weather just did not want cooperate with us so a few days before his party we moved it to our church.
Yes I had to call all of the guests to tell them about the change of plans.
It only took me 3 hours to call everyone.

A picture of the banner that I made:
The cupcakes:
(PS Each cupcake (100) had a picture on it and there was only a couple repeat pictures.)
Matthew got a little stage fright when everyone sang to him and it took a lot of coaxing to get him to blow out his candles.
Remember the first birthday post how I talked about two every special people, here they are with Matthew:
Matthew with Sebastian (His birthfather)
Matthew with Adie (His birthmother)
We had a wonderful time with all of our guests!
Guess how many there were?
There was a lot!

Present opening time:
(PS: I'll only show you a few because I know you are busy and don't have all day to look at all of them.)
He got this really cool frame with his name on it.
An awesome John Deere shirt:
(It says: My Daddy's John Deere is bigger than Your Daddy's)
A Bible called: My Pajama Bible
(I'm weird-what can I say)
A Minnesota Vikings outfit:
A Mater (Disney Pixar Cars) book.
OH Yay!  Lots of Cars themed items!
He loved this book!
It was one of the first presents he opened and he didn't want to open anymore until he was done reading it.
These are all of the gifts:
Yes they took up most of our living room!
One of my favorites is on the right side of picture-Do you see the picture frame with his name on it?
Each letter is an opening for a picture!
I am so excited to fill it and hang it.
He is one spoiled loved little boy!
Thank you to everyone who came and celebrated with us!

PS Do you really want to know how many people were there?  There was 68 including me, Matthew and Scott.
