Visiting Grandma and Grandpa while they were camping

On Friday night, Grandma (pictured in first picture) and Grandpa (in 3rd picture down in green shirt) were camping in Aitkin. We went up and had supper with them and of course we had to make some smores! Grandma cooked us yummy hamburgers and hot dogs (Matthew's favorite). This is Matthew's auntie Patty! She doesn't like her picture taken so I took this one without her realizing it. Hahaha Patty!
Grandpa is in the green shirt.
This is Matthew's new thing. He only chews on the thumb! It is always on that side. His gum is swelled on that side a bit but not sure what is going on.
Matthew's cousin Austin. He is a crazy boy! He loves strawberries!
This is Matthew's Old (great) Grandma! She is a silly grandma.
This is Matthew's auntie Suzie! She is CRAZY!!!
Eating all the yummy food that Grandma made for us.
Austin is a wild man so when Grandpa started the fire, he had to be put in his harness. He was decided that he was going to get tangled up with Grandma. Grandma almost fell.
Austin's flashlight that they found at a garage sale that day. It is a witch and does a funny witch laugh and Austin was having a blast shining it everywhere. He kept shining it in Auntie Suzie's eyes and then giggle!
By the end of the night, Matthew was worn out and crashed in Daddy's arms while we were sitting around the campfire.

Fingerprint Friday

I can see the fingerprints of God
When I look at you
I can see the fingerprints of God
And I know its true
You're a masterpiece
That all creation quietly applauds
And you're covered with the fingerprints of God
So look around you and see where YOU can see God's fingerprints. Is it in nature? Kids? Animals? Where do you see them?

He is on the move!
He loves walking around furniture.
He was brave only once so far and let go.
He has had a few tumbles along the way.
See his attire-Yay that is getting to be a regular thing anymore. He loves to be in just his diaper. It makes it easier at meal time-no bib, no messy clothes and easy clean up.
You're probably wondering why the chair is laying on its side on the floor. Well it is blocking off the cat food dish. It was the only brainy idea we could come up with so that Matthew could not get the cat food. The cat has learned to jump over when she is hungry. But of course Matthew is smart and has even moved the chair to get to the cat food. He is intrigued with the cat. The cat only likes Matthew when he is sleeping because then he is not trying to crawl after her.
So look around you and see where you can see God's fingerprints. To see other fingerprint Fridays or to join in go to Pampering Beki's blog.

Fun in the Sun

Is this smile adorable or what?

We played outside in the pool again today!
Emma joined us too!
They had lots of fun together!
I was also experimenting with the camera (I didn't realize that it took black and white pictures).
Hope everyone is staying cool during these super hot days! Our pool isn't very big but if you would like to join us give us a call! Matthew loves being in there and he has lots more fun if someone is in it with him!

Scott's First Father's Day

Scott's First Father's Day!!!!!!!!!

We had a great day yesterday for Father's Day! Scott loved his present from me and Matthew (It is a grass seed/fertilizer spreader). He wanted so bad to use it yesterday but the rain started about 30 minutes before he was ready to spread grass seed.
We went to dinner at Grizzlys. Yum!

Birthfather's Day

Today (the day before Father's Day) is a day to honor birthfathers who have made an adoption plan for their child. We honored Matthew's birthfather, Sebastian, by taking him out to lunch today. We went to Buffalo Wild Wings (Sebastian's choice) and it was really yummy! Before lunch we had a wonderful visit with Sebastian's family and Matthew had a blast playing with Sebastian's brothers and sister (I mean Matthew's uncles and aunt!). Thank you Grandma G for the really cute sandals for Matthew.

We also found out today where Matthew's love of peas came from! Sebastian loves peas too!

New Swimming Pool

Today we bought Matthew a little swimming pool and he LOVES it!

He had lots of fun!
I will show more pictures throughout the summer of the fun times in his pool!

How can you not see God's fingerprints all over Matthew?

He started out trying to help get the pan out of the dishwasher but then found the tupperware drawer. He tried to stand up but the drawer was moving to much.

On the Move Videos

It is hard to believe that in just a week Matthew has learned to do an actual crawl, pull himself up and walk along furniture. It is exciting to see him do and learn so many new things but at the same time I am sad that he is growing way to fast. It seems like he was born just yesterday but he is almost 9 1/2 months old.
This first video is of him crawling and pulling himself up!

This next video he is pulling himself up and walking along the couch!

More walking along the couch!

Make sure to turn your computer up so you can hear all the noise he makes when he is making his way to the other end of couch!

This one is for you (Old) Grandma

This one is for you (Old) Grandma! Why you may ask? "The Newspaper"

Why is the newpaper important? The story: I spent a lot of time with my grandma when I was little so that my mom could finish high school. I was a little spoiled and I am sure that I kept grandma moving. She tells me that I could shred and crumble newspapers and then scatter them EVERYWHERE! She paid me back once and now it is Matthew's turn.

How did she pay me back? It was shortly after she moved back to Minnesota from Washington, she came over to visit and seen my newpaper sitting on my foot stool. She picked it up and crumbled it and tore it up a few times (glad I was done reading it) and then scattered the pages all over my house. My sister in law and her friend happened to be there too and they just sat there with this bewildered look on their faces. After she was all done, she laughed! Then she told the story of how I used to do that to her all the time.

Watching (Great) Uncle Wayne Fly

Yesterday Matthew and I went to Madden's airport to watch Uncle Wayne fly! WOW! It was lots of fun! Once he was up it was just a little to windy so he didn't stay up to long.Taking Off!

Landing!

While Uncle Wayne was getting set up, we also watched two airplanes take off!

In the Grass!!!!!!!!

Today after we were at Breezy Point, we went to Pillager for a surprise party for Scott's cousin's wife. (Congrats Jessi-RN 2009). Matthew played in grass for the first time. He cried when Scott first sat him down. Then he decided it was fun to pull on!Walking on it was a different story!
I don't think that he liked the feel of it on the bottom of his feet!

He did the same thing with his other foot too!

Playing in Pelican Lake

Today we went to Breezy Point with Scott. He was repairing a grandfather clock for some super nice people who live on the lake. They just loved Matthew to pieces. Matthew and I walked down the dock and before we left I took Matthew to put his feet in Pelican Lake.
First time in a lake!
I am so excited for our first camping trip with Matthew.
See the timeline to see how many days left before we go camping!
It was a little cold!
He just didn't want to get his feet wet!
Okay so he just had to keep trying to stick his feet in.
After we stood up Matthew got really excited and started waving!
We spent a few minutes on the patio visiting until the grandfather struck the hour so Scott could make sure that it was working right. Matthew is playing with one of Scott's clock tools.

Snuggling with Daddy

This morning Matthew got to get in bed with daddy to snuggle. Don't let the pictures fool you-he usually isn't that still while in the bed. He mostly rolls around and now he just crawls around.
