Fingerprint Friday

There is a song by Steven Curtis Chapman that says:
I can see the fingerprints of God
When I look at you
I can see the fingerprints of God
And I know it's true
You're a masterpiece
That all creation quietly applauds
And you're covered with the fingerprints of God
So look around you and see where YOU can see God's fingerprints. Is it in nature? Kids? Animals? Where do you see them?

He is a funny boy! He is definitely getting his own personality! He just turned 9 months old on Monday and he is learning and doing so many new things this week-it is just hard to believe! Last night at supper I picked up the camera to get a picture of our very messy boy and he was anticipating the flash and was making these funny faces!

He is a very happy baby! Well he has his moments like we all do!
And this is one of those moments!
Yeah-this is what he looks like when he doesn't get his way!
His shirt says it all:
I may be little, but I'm the boss!
He has changed our life in so many ways. And YES he is the boss! But he is NOT spoiled in any way. Okay maybe a little! :) God's fingerprints are shining through in all our happy times and even in the grumpier and not so happy moments.

Helping Daddy

Yesterday Scott came home early but still have to work on repairing some tools for the shop. Well Matthew decided that he was going to help daddy! Matthew got right in and started playing with everything. He even grabbed the bag with parts in it and just as he was about to dump it upside down, I was able to grab the bag so no parts fell out. You should have seen Matthew's jammies when they were done. They were dirty and full of saw dust!Trying to fix it using his red ball! :)
Then he decided that he was going to take the part that he has in his hand. Of course after he got ahold of it he army crawled away. As Scott was putting everything back together he looked at me and asked where a part was. I said Oh the one Matthew has. Sure enough, Matthew was just as busy as can being playing and examining the part that Scott needed. Yay he was not so happy with daddy when daddy took the part back!

9 Month Check Up

On Friday we went in for Matthew's 9 month well child check up. He weighs 18 lbs and is 27 3/4" long. For weight he is only in the 15 percentile and for height he is in the 60 percentile. He also had to have his toe pricked so that they could draw blood to test for lead and anemia. He didn't even cry and the nurse was squeezing pretty hard because his toe didn't want to give up much blood. We also talked to the doctor about Matthew's cold. We told him how he had a cold over Mother's day weekend and it moved into his chest and he was getting better and got a relapse of his cold just like Scott and I both did. After the doctor was done listening to Matthew's chest he decided that he wanted to put Matthew on a nebulizer because he is wheezing. He thought it is probably just from his cold but he wanted to get Matthew's lungs opened up. He also put him on an antibiotic. Well after we got home, we did a nebulizer treatment. The treatment lasts anywhere from 10 to 15 minutes. The treatment consists of putting a small tube of medicine in the cup that Scott is holding and the machine that it is hooked up to turns it into a mist that Matthew breathes in. Matthew did okay with it the first few minutes and as you can see I made Scott be the bad guy and do the treatment. Matthew is a Daddy's boy anyway. As you can see in this first picture he was doing okay with it but continue down to the follow pictures. Okay so now he is not so happy and is crying just a little.
He is now screaming, fighting and trying to pull away.
He was pretty upset during the treatment but the pharmacist said that if he is crying the more it will open his lungs and the deeper the medicine will get into his lungs. We felt so bad for him during the treatment. We have heard him cry but WOW the crying and fighting was worse then what he does on the changing table (Yay he hates to be changed which I don't understand because he loves to be naked). The doctor said that Matthew's cough should become more productive (He has been coughing so hard that he throws up) and when his cough and wheezing is gone we can stop the nebulizer treatments. And of course if we don't see improvement we need to make another appointment with the doctor.

Well when Matthew woke up this morning we did another treatment. It did not go so bad. He cried a little bit after about 4 minutes but I tried to keep him distracted with a few toys and talking with him in a soothing voice.

My fingerprint this week is about the people that we meet!

Last Saturday we had 40 yards of black dirt brought in to start on our garden and our yard(More pictures to follow another week). Then between Wednesday and Thursday this week we had another 60 yards hauled it. The dump truck driver was very pleasant to work with. On Saturday when he brought the 2nd load, our niece Emma was here. She is always wanting to know about everything. She asked the driver lots of questions about the dirt and somewhere in their conversation the subject of cupcakes came up (Not sure how!). So knowing that he was coming back on Wednesday, I decided to make him a pan of brownies! I also promised Emma that I would go get her so that she could see him unload more dirt.

On Wednesday, I made the brownies and when Emma got here I let her help me frost the brownies. We were also going to write Thanks on the drivers pan but I could not get my decorating tips to work (we practiced on the pan of brownies that I made for us). Emma enjoyed helping and she really enjoyed licking the frosting off the knife.

When her mom picked her up from daycare to come out to our house, she said "Mommy I so escited" (That is how she says excited).

Look What Matthew Did Today!

Today Matthew was playing actually pulling the toys out of the basket! He turned and got on his knees for a better look!
Then pulled himself up to get an even better look inside!
He actually is standing at the toy basket by himself!
This picture was taken on my cell phone that is why it is kind of blurry.

Another Cold

Our poor baby has another cold. At the beginning of the week I thought that maybe he was teething because all he had was a low grade fever but on Tuesday came the runny/stuffy nose and now last night he started with a cough. I really wish that there was something that I could give him for his cough. Tomorrow Matthew goes in for his 9 month well child check up. Can you believe 9 months already? The time has just flown by! Hopefully the doctor can suggest something that will soothe Matthew's cough.

Sleeping Baby

I have been waiting to take a picture of Matthew sleeping like this! I think it is just so cute! I had to uncover him just to take the picture. He has been a tired baby lately. He was just getting over his cold when he got a relapse. Sunday night you could tell that he was starting not to feel good and by Monday he was starting to get stuffed up/runny nose. Watch out when he sneezes!
He is snuggly when he is sick and of course I take full advantage of snuggle time. He usually doesn't want to snuggle with me because he is a big time Daddy's boy!

Waving Good-Bye

Today is the first time that Matthew has waved good-bye! Is this cute or what? Well what can I say, he is cute no matter what he does!

Matthew Loves Strawberries

Matthew loves strawberries! On Saturday night we went to a birthday party and while Scott was putting food on his plate, Matthew was taking food off! The first thing that Matthew went for was a strawberry. As you can tell he enjoyed it!

Fingerprint Friday

I can see the fingerprints of God
When I look at you
I can see the fingerprints of God
And I know its true
Youre a masterpiece
That all creation quietly applauds
And you're covered with the fingerprints of God
So look around you and see where YOU can see God's fingerprints. Is it in nature? Kids? Animals? Where do you see them? This morning I went into Matthew's room and this is how I found him. Matthew sleeps in some of the funniest positions! Oh to be so flexible! He is a funny boy. When I want him to sleep in, he is up at 4 am but when I want him to be up early he sleeps in so that I have to wake him up. God made each child perfect in his eyes and to their parents and grandparents too! He is always such a happy boy and God blessed us with a wonderful boy who is growing just way to fast!
Look around you and where do you see God's fingerprints! To see how to join or the view other Fingerprint Fridays go to Pampering Beki's blog.
Hope everyone has a great day and a wonderful weekend! We are getting black dirt hauled in so that Matthew, Scott and I can play in the dirt and put in our garden! So excited to have a garden again!

This is just to cute not to share with everyone! He got all the way across our living room today! As you can see all the toys are picked up (I did that while he was napping) but as soon as I turned off the camera he tipped over the basket! He is definitely on the move. It will not be long before he is crawling.

Outside

Yesterday we had a relaxing day at home! Matthew and I played outside on a blanket while Scott worked on our bird pond!Matthew did really good with keeping his hat on! He hates sunglasses though!
And of course-We always need the nukkie with.
Oh yes I forgot to tell everyone! Matthew is saying some new words! Dadada is still is favorite with an occassional mama but on Saturday while Scott was making breakfast, Matthew and I were playing on the floor with Matthew's tractor book and I said Matthew say tractor. It came out pretty clear that tractor is what he was trying to say. I am now trying to teach him to say "Dada tractor ride". I told Scott that this summer he will probably not get much work done with the tractor except when Matthew is napping.

I see God's fingerprints when I look at these two beautiful children. This is Matthew with his cousin Emma. Emma is our niece and goddaughter. They could pass as brother and sister couldn't they? God blessed us with our wonderful son and our beautiful niece.

Emma stays with us often. Usually every Saturday night so that we can take her to church and occassionally other nights of the week also. She stayed with us Thursday night and spent the day with Matthew and I on Friday. We had lots of fun going garage saleing, eating lunch at McDonalds and when we were all done garage saleing we stopped for some ice cream.

First 4-wheeler Ride

Look at the smiles on both of their faces!!!!!Every time Papa would stop to talk to Scott, Matthew would cry so he had to keep driving! Scott finally had to just pick Matthew up off the 4-wheeler!

Playing/Sitting

Matthew is getting really good at sitting up by himself. He loves to sit by the toy basket and pull toys out. Most of the time when he is on his tummy, he will just tip the basket on it's side and pull the toys out.The toy he has in his hand is a rattle but he always puts it in his mouth and gags himself with it. When he gags himself more than 3 times the rattle gets taken away.
If I pick up all the toys usually within 5 minutes they are all over the living room again. I really enjoy watching him play. Most of the time he wants me on the floor with him but sometimes he will let me get some housework done.
All the playing just tired the little man out. One minute he was playing so nice and then the next he was screaming so I picked him up and within a few minutes he was out!
I can't believe how big he is getting. I remember when I could carry him in just one arm.

Cheesy Puffs

Yesterday we found something else that Matthew loves to eat! Wait he will eat just about anything that we give him. We had cheesy puffs yesterday with lunch and Matthew had lots of fun with them! We put the tray on his high chair and it seems like he can reach the food better and he now wants to feed himself.Look at this cute but messy face!
He also likes toast and french toast!

Saturday Full of Adventures

Yesterday we had a very busy day. A day full of adventures. First we had a confirmation to attend for Tyler(Tyler is the 2nd one from the bottom of picture) with a lunch afterwards at our church, First Lutheran. At the lunch Matthew got to see his great grandpa John (Adie's grandpa). Tyler's mom, Kathy works for John. Matthew didn't have any problems going to John. He just sat there and watched John talk to him. Then we had a wedding to go to. We didn't have to go far because the wedding was at First Lutheran also. The wedding we attend was for Scott's cousin, Melissa. She was a very beautiful bride. I didn't get any pictures at the wedding, only at the reception. In this picture below is Scott's aunt Karyl. We going camping with Karyl every summer. Camping was started about 22 years ago. We are going at the end of July this year.
Alexa is Scott's cousin, Steve's daughter and she just loves Matthew. And Matthew loves her and her sister Eva. Whenever Matthew sees them, he almost always squeels at them.
This is Eva and Matthew. These pictures were taken at the reception.
Matthew and his uncle Kyle. Matthew was starting to get tired in this picture and it kinda looks like he was not happy. Matthew has been a Daddy's boy lately and Daddy can't get to far out of his sight.
Matthew and I dancing our first dance together. He wanted to keep looking at all the flashing lights. He was having so much fun.
Matthew dancing with Scott's cousin, RaeAnne. This is the first time that he would go to RaeAnne. The first 3 times that Scott tried to give him to her, he would cry.
This is Scott's cousin Steve and his wife Jessi. They are the parents to Alexa and Eva. They were having a great time dancing to the Electric Slide. They were pretty good I might say. WOW!Finally a picture of the bride, Melissa. She sure was a beautiful and happy bride.
Dancing of the Chicken Dance! Matthew didn't know what to think of the Chicken Dance. Let me tell you that it is hard to do the Chicken Dance holding a baby BUT we had LOTS of FUN!
Dancing with Uncle Kyle!
Matthew and me dancing the Chicken Dance! What a Hoot!
When we got back to the table Matthew decided that he still wanted to dance some more or really he wanted to JUMP! As you can see Matthew was getting to warm so off came the pants.
He just couldn't take any more fun! He was so tired last night. He was sleeping through everything. Then he slept through the night.
This is the bride Melissa dancing with Emma. Emma thought that was the greatest. After Melissa did the bouquet toss a few flowers fell out and Emma picked them up. Melissa then put the flower in Emma's hair. Emma was pretty proud of that.

Not sure who the little boy is in the picture but he had the moves.

We were all pretty tired when we left last night, but we all had a FUN time!
