One Nap or Two

Matthew is to the stage where we are deciding whether to give him one nap or two naps a day.  Some days he really needs that 2nd nap but other days he fights the whole time.  I try to push the first nap a little but that don't usually work.  The other day he only had one nap in the morning and was so tired that he was sleeping before 7 pm.  I tried everything to keep him awake.  I was a little naughty and let him sleep on me and we snuggled up on the couch and he slept until about 9:30 when Scott got home.  He talked to Scott for a few minutes and went back to sleep.  He slept until 7 the next morning.

Today he is starting to get a cold (so we think).  Maybe it is from teething but I don't think so.  He has a bad cough so we will put the humidifer in his room for a few days to see if that helps.  Hopefully he wouldn't be sick for Christmas.  We have a very busy week.  It all started today.  We had the Christmas program for our Sunday School kids.  I am a Sunday School teacher for the 3rd grade.  3rd grade is a special year at our church, the 3rd grade students receive their Bibles.  They have an important part of the program because they read The Birth Story of Jesus from Luke 2 from their Bibles.  I am so very proud of the wonderful  job that they did.

Monday we need to go grocery shopping.
Tuesday our niece has a program at her preschool.
Some time between Monday and Wednesday I have to cook all the food that we need for all the parties.
Wednesday we have a Christmas party.
Thursday is Christmas Eve and another party.
Friday is Christmas and we have two Christmas parties.
Saturday we will be able to relax and hopefully sleep in.

Amanda has had a 7 pm bedtime for quite a while. I think it pretty normal for their bedtime to be early when they go down to only one nap. It's always a challenge to make that shuffle between 1 and 2.

Amanda has started not always needing even 1 nap, but Mama still needs that nap so she needs to be in her bed and quiet. You can usually tell by about 5:30 whether or not she slept during naptime.
