Our Sick Baby

This past week, Matthew had the flu.
It started Monday night while he was home with daddy while I was at the church for the photo group.
He forced himself to stay awake until I got home.
Scott said that if he started to fall asleep he would move so that he would stay awake.
As soon as I walked in the door, he looked at me and said, "Matthew threw up".
He wanted me to hold him right away.
He is a Mama's boy only when he is sick.
Tuesday: We spent almost the whole day on the couch (similar to the picture below).
See how his jammie shirt is up a little bit?
This is so we can "tickle" this tummy.
"Tickle"=running our fingers slightly around on his tummy=a relaxation to Matthew.
He gets mad if we stop before he is ready to stop.
He will actually grab our hands and put it where ever he wants us to tickle.
His favorite areas are his tummy and his arms.

His fever finally broke Thursday morning.
He continues to have a runny nose, sneezing and a rough cough.
Scott has also been sick (He started on Saturday with a fever).
I'm praying that I don't get sick.
So far so good.

Artist

Last year for Matthew's birthday, we bought him a chalkboard/art easel!
He loves writing with chalk!
He even writes on the wood areas where he shouldn't.
He was really getting into it the other day!
The tongue was just going!
Then the she caught me look!
He loves running around in just his underwear so that's what we left him do.
Saves on the laundry if he has an accident.

Time with Adie

Last weekend we were invited to dinner with Adie and Anissa.
Mamma (Anissa) bought Matthew some things to play with at her house.
They had lots of fun playing with the play-doh.
They were making snakes.

This bottom picture is so cute.
He looks so big sitting on the stool.
Thanks Anissa for dinner!  It was awesome!
We had a great time!
We love spending time with Matthew's birthparents and their families.
When we started our adoption journey, we never would have believed that we would become a part of two wonderful families.  We have the most amazing relationship with Matthew's birthparents and their families.

More Playing Outside

So sorry for my absence from blogging.
Our life is crazy busy right now and time just slips away from me.
These pictures were from February 15.
Matthew played outside for a little bit while Daddy looked to see what was wrong with my car.
I'm really enjoying and learning lots from my photography class.
Did I also tell you that we have a photo group at our church?
Our youth director is very passionate about photography and has been teaching me things too.

Playing Outside

I had some time to play outside because the weather has been beautiful and we finally had some free time.
Life sure gets crazy busy sometimes.
Here are a few pictures of our outside time:

It is getting harder and harder to get pictures of Matthew.
I think that he is tired of me taking his picture.
Hope you are all enjoying the awesome weather that we are having.

Time with Bash

This post is a tad bit late but life has been crazy busy!
We were finally able to get together with Sebastian and his family almost 2 weeks ago.
We had so much fun!
Matthew was being a silly boy and very shy towards Bash.
These two crack me up.
They played very good together.
Loa is just under a year older than Matthew.
Did I tell you that Loa is Matthew's uncle?!

Matthew would barely give Bash five.
Trying to get Matthew to give him knuckles.
Matthew decided to give Auntie knuckles.
Finally giving knuckles but still not happy about it.
He Gave Grandma G hugs no problem.
Thanks Grandma G for dinner and for a great night!

Just Because!!!!!!

This is what I get for a smile from him anymore!
Do you think it's because I take too many pictures?
NOTE: Same picture-Different editing
Did I tell you that I am taking an advanced photography class?
It's a continuation from the class that I took last year.
It started last night and I already learned alot even though most of it was a review.

Fingerprint Friday

There is a song by Steven Curtis Chapman that says:
I can see the fingerprints of God
When I look at you
I can see the fingerprints of God
And I know its true
You're a masterpiece
That all creation quietly applauds
And you're covered with the fingerprints of God
So look around you and see where YOU can see God's fingerprints. Is it in nature? Kids? Animals? Where do you see them?

Matthew is where I see God's fingerprints everyday!
I can't believe that he is growing so fast!
Wow is he getting smart!
He really didn't want me to take his picture the other day but I just kept clicking away hoping to get a few good ones!
He might not be smiling in most of them but he's my little lovebug (unless daddy is home).

I think this face is so cute!
I think that he had just finishing telling me "NO" because he didn't want his picture taken.
I did get a smile though!

Drinking Coffee

Yesterday Matthew wanted "coffee"!
I told him when he went potty he could use the coffee cup!
He didn't even want to get his underwear back on before he had his "coffee" (aka: apple juice).

Letting him run around with just underwear on while potty training is easier and saves on laundry.
I definitely make sure he doesn't get cold (Not something we really have to worry about in this apartment).

Matthew has been doing awesome with potty training!  Don't get me wrong he still have accidents but we use lots of incentives.  He doesn't like to have on wet underwear or clothes either.  So if you ever stop over and he is naked or only has underwear on, you know why.

A couple weeks ago, I had to run out to the garage for something and I asked Matthew before I ran out if he had to go potty.  He said "No potty".  I was not even gone for two minutes and when I walked back in the house, Matthew was standing there holding his underwear.  He said "pee in underwear" and sounded disgusted that he had peed in his underwear.  It was hard not to laugh by just the way he said it.

Playing with Daddy's Hat

The other night Matthew got ahold of Daddy's hat!

He's such a silly boy sometimes!

Cousins

This picture was taken on Christmas of the cousins!
It sure is hard to get 3 children who are 3 and under to look at the camera at the same time!
My niece Annabelle

My niece Annabelle with my mom!
See where she gets her red hair from!
Can you believe that she is going to be 1 in such a few short weeks?
I sure can't believe it either.

Word for the Year

I've read several blogs in blogland that do a word or verse for the year!  I have been encouraged by these blogs and decided to give it a try.

My word: Trust

I am trusting you, O Lord, saying, "You are my God!" My future is in your hands.
Psalm 31:14-15

We were entrusted by his birthparents and by God to love and parent this sweet child:

He really did not want me to take his picture!
But then he changed his mind!

He was kind of grumping on and off!
After I snapped a few grumpy ones, he wanted to see them!
(I was trying out my new camera lens and I love it! I did very little editing on these photos!)

Christmas 2010

Christmas was so much fun this year!
It's a combine and also a book.

It's a pack pack like Matthew would say!  It was full of books!
Checking out his stocking!
One of the things in his stocking was fruit rollups called Stickerz!
A few days after Christmas I let him have some and he said "Love it"
I didn't get a picture of him opening his big present which was his train track but here is a picture of Daddy and Matthew setting it up!
Don't you just love his jammies?
The shirt has a santa on it and it is says What Santa doesn't bring me, Grandma will!
I think he got everything that he possibly wanted plus more!
