Helping

Matthew had lots of fun helping Daddy work on the house this past summer.
I don't think that I showed you this picture.
Matthew had to bring his own tools to help Daddy!

Are you patiently waiting to see more of this house?
I am working on it and hope to have another post up soon!

Helping Daddy

Matthew just loves helping his Daddy with anything around the house.
One day last week, Scott had the day off so they worked on the railing on the outside deck.

He loves Daddy's undivided attention.
He has been a bigger helper around the house lately.
He is pretty funny too!
On this particular day, he came into the garage where I was working and said, "Mommy, uh I sweaty from working on the house."
He was even pulling 2 x 4 x 8's off the trailer and dragging them to the window and helping push them in the window.  After he did 6 or so, he looked at me and said "Oh my back is hurting."  He took a break for awhile and then continued helping.  We had LOTs of 2 x 4's (90 I believe).  After we were done, he told me he was thristy and needed a treat.
He is getting so grown up!  While working of the new house, we have been letting him skip naps (unless of course, he really needs one) and he does really good without his naps.  I still give him naps during the week to see about catching up on some of that missed sleep but there are days when he is just not tired and just rests.

Helping Daddy Again

In the lower level of the new house, there is this ugly paneling that was glued right to the block wall and we are removing because it STINKS.
It is coming off in little bitty pieces.
Matthew was helping Scott remove it.
Matthew loves to help.
I think it's because he gets to use Daddy's tools.
This is just a cute picture:
Notice Matthew's pants!
Pants are hard to find that fit him.
We have to usually find the ones that have adjustable waists or use a belt.
Belts and newly potty trained don't work so well.
Hope the wanting to help continues!
He jumps at helping us but when it comes to picking up toys that he dumps out, it's a struggle to get him to pick them up.  Not sure why that is!

Helping Plant Trees

For my birthday/Mother's Day, I got 2 apple trees for our new house.
A couple weekends ago, we finally got them planted.
Well actually Daddy and Matthew got them planted.

Now my job is to water them daily!

Miscellaneous Stuff

I am sorry that I haven't posted anything lately.
We have been outside enjoying this beautiful weather.
On Tuesday this week, Matthew helped me transplant some plants that needed replanting and he also helped me plant some seeds.  We are going to try growing onions and rosemary.
Thursday he got to play with his new bubble machine.
Bubble machine you ask?  We used a little bribery to get him to go poop on the potty.  First time we bought it and he only gets to use it on the days that he goes poop on the potty.
He also doesn't want you to watch him while he is in the bathroom.
He says "Ouk" for Out!
He started this new thing where he thinks he has to ask the same question over and over again.  He repeats it faster than you can answer him.
He also answers your questions with the same questions.
We have a mini golf course in the area called Pirates Cove and Matthew calls it Arrr Matie Cove!
He says toe gram for toe jam!  He hates toe gram!  As soon as his socks come off he is looking between his toes and removing it.
He loves napping on the couch with daddy!  I know daddy loves it too!
He loves to help around the house!
He enjoys playing outside!
He likes to build "fires" as he calls them!  He piles up sticks and whatever else he finds and says he is making a "fire".
He snores!
We'll be moving to a new house in about 2 months!  So excited!  Matthew loves playing out in the yard at our new house!
We had a great time last weekend when we celebrated Mother's Day with Adie!  We went to dinner and then went bowling.  I'll post pictures soon!

Helping Mommy Make Cookies

One day last week, I decided to make cookies.
Matthew had a blast helping me.
We were not able to use his dough because he kept adding more and more flour and the cookies would not stick together.
Like his rolling pin?
We had to wash up and use his rolling pin from his play-doh because mine are still packed over in our storage garage.

Then after they were cooled, we frosted and decorated!
He also enjoyed eating them!

Funny

This really should have been before him putting the training wheels on since he is "reading" the directions on how they work.
I guess he thought it was great reading material!

New Bike

Scott got Matthew a "new" used bike.
We bought some training wheels and Matthew was helping Daddy put the training wheels on.
He had Daddy's tools scattered everywhere.
He loves to help his daddy.
Matthew still hasn't been able to figure out how to peddle the bike but he knows how to put the brakes on.
He likes to be pushed but as we are pushing, he brakes and stops us dead in our tracks.

Pumpkin Carving

One day last week, we carved pumpkins!
We made a mess but we had fun so I guess that is all that matters!

Pulling out the pumpkin guts!
~He had both arms in there~
And we had one messy boy!
Real concentration!
He was taking seeds out and putting seeds back in!
I love this picture!
He always has to see what daddy is doing!

Watching really hard so he can remember for next year!
He doesn't give me many smiles anymore!
I think that he is sick of me taking his picture!
I can't imagine why??
Once the pumpkin was carved, he was kinda of scared of it!
He is doing a great job of learning his shapes!
Look at all the pumpkin on his face!
He really gets into his work!
Our two pumpkins!!!
I didn't get any glowing pictures of the pumpkins this year!
I guess that I have been kind of bad at taking pictures lately.
I'm hoping by not taking so many that Matthew will start to smile in pictures again for me!  Hahaha!

Making Banana Bread

Matthew helped me make some banana bread!
I think he liked the feel of it on his hands.
As he was smashing the bananas, he kept wanting to take bites.
When I took over to finish stirring it so we could get it in the oven, I felt something funny.  Matthew had mixed his fork into the batter and that is what I was feeling.
The adventures of cooking with kids!
We had lots of fun!
We even ate a piece of banana bread fresh out of the oven.
It was Yummy!

Helping Mommy

Matthew got to help Mommy wash the dishes.  We ended up with water everywhere but how else will he ever learn.  He had more fun taking the soapy water out of my sink and pouring it on the clean dishes.
He enjoyed every minute!
Cup full of soapy water
Oopps! Missed the sink!
See the water splashing!
Mommy cleaning up water all over the floor!
Soapy water all over the clean dishes!

Always Helping Daddy

Helping Daddy put together a cabinet so I can finish unpacking!
This picture just cracks me up so I had to share with all of you!
Looking at Daddy to get more information.
Then he had to throw in a little temper tantrum!
Just didn't want you to think that it never happens around our house because as you can see it does!
(Look Grandma!  I let him get dirty today! Hahaha!)
My two cuties!
Can you believe that in about 3 1/2 months Matthew is going to be 2?
Where has the time gone?
