Fingerprint Friday

There is a song by Steven Curtis Chapman that says:
I can see the fingerprints of God
When I look at you
I can see the fingerprints of God
And I know its true
You're a masterpiece
That all creation quietly applauds
And you're covered with the fingerprints of God

So look around you and see where YOU can see God's fingerprints. Is it in nature? Kids? Animals? Where do you see them?

We love our "little man"!
We can't believe that he is 3 years old already.
Time flies when you're having fun!
We love being parents!
This picture was taken on Wednesday and it is a rare occasion that he actually wants me to take his picture.  I have taken so many that when he sees the camera come out, he usually cries and says no pictures.

Matthew is where I see God's fingerprints everyday!
I can't believe that he is growing so fast!
Wow is he getting smart!
He really didn't want me to take his picture the other day but I just kept clicking away hoping to get a few good ones!
He might not be smiling in most of them but he's my little lovebug (unless daddy is home).

I think this face is so cute!
I think that he had just finishing telling me "NO" because he didn't want his picture taken.
I did get a smile though!

Every time that I look at Matthew I am reminded of how blessed that we are and how much he has changed our lives.
We are very excited to celebrate tonight the graduation of two very important people who helped change  our lives with this wonderful blessing of our son, Matthew.
Congratulations Adie and Sebastian on your high school graduation!
We can't wait to see you tonight!

Yesterday when it was a balmy 28 degrees, Matthew and I played outside.
Then Daddy came home and gave Matthew a tractor ride-See previous post here.
Not sure what they were looking at but it must have been interesting.

My two "Fingerprint of God"
I am so blessed!

These two beautiful fingerprints of God were visiting our feeder this morning.
It is not very often that the pair of cardinals come in together.
When Scott said that the cardinal was out there, right away our little fingerprint of God ran to look out the window like he knew what Daddy was saying.  Luckily they didn't fly away so that I could get the beautiful picture of them.
Our little fingerprint that is growing way to fast and getting way to smart.  He loves to watch Sesame Street!  It is even cutier listening to him say Sesame Street.
His vocabulary is growing right along with him.  It is so fun to listen to him talk.

We are patiently awaiting the arrival of God's fingerprint.
My sister looks so beautiful pregnant (only 4 days to her due date)!
These pictures were taken yesterday.

Here's another little fingerprint of God:
(Matthew's not quite sure what's going on)

We told him to go feel the baby.
He had to look for the baby first.

Giving Auntie Susie and Baby a hug with Grandma's help!

I am so HAPPY for my sister and her husband.
I am especially excited to meet my new niece or nephew who likes to kick her/his favorite Aunt!

He also loves to be nakie as he calls it!
Matthew gets to visit his Papa once a week and spend the day with Papa and Grammie (or as Matthew says it MeMe).

At night before Matthew goes to bed we always say the Lord's Prayer.  About 2 weeks ago, when he knew we were going to pray he folded his hands.  On Wednesday night, when we said "Amen", we thought for sure he said it.  Then Thursday night, he said it again and it was very clear.  What a fingerprint!

This is a picture of me and my mom.
She doesn't look old enough to be my mom does she? But she is!
Our life has not always been easy but I wouldn't change a thing about our relationship now.
My mom is one of my best friends and she is always there when I need a shoulder to cry on and she usually has me laughing by the time we are done talking.
Love you Mom!

Matthew enjoying his first shower with Daddy!

A short story of why he got to take his first shower with Daddy: Matthew was playing out on our deck while I was making supper and usually he is jabbering and squealing but he was being really quiet so I investigated. I found a very dirty baby. He found the ashes in the grill along with a couple pieces of charcoal and was having a blast playing in them.

My fingerprint today is my sister, Patty, because today is her special day: It's her Birthday! She is my youngest sister and she sure has made life interesting. Just ask our mom!!! I rememeber one time when our mom freaked out because something was wrong with Patty's nose. Our mom took her to the ER right away. It wasn't soon after they arrived and were waiting for the doctor when Patty sneezed and out flies a piece of corn. Hehehe! Hey Patty has Austin stuck anything up his nose yet? Just wait your pay back in coming. Oh yay and make sure Austin doesn't play with toothpicks, we wouldn't want him to get one stuck in his foot! Remember that? Hehehehe.
This is the most recent picture I have of my sister where she is actually looking at the camera. It was taken the day after Matthew was born by our mom. I love the lighting in this picture. The sun was shining in the window which was behind our mom when she was taking the picture. The little blond boy is Austin (Patty's son). He was almost 17 months old in this picture. He is quite the little wild man but we love him to pieces too. He used to call Matthew "Baby Scottie" but now it is Matthew but not pronounced quite right and he calls Scott "Gunkle".
Happy Birthday Patty! Love Ya!

Matthew had a little play date today! My sister Susan was babysitting her friend's little girl today and we spent the day together. The little girl's name is Genevieve. For short they call her Gen (Jen)! She was a cutie! Her and Matthew played really good together.

She even had 2 teeth! She is 2 1/2 months younger than Matthew.
It was so hot, we even played in the swimming pool! They had lots of fun!
Thanks Susan for spending the day with us and bringing Genevieve with you!
They are both wondering fingerprints of God! Can you see God's fingerprints?

"Lord, make me the parent You want me to be and teach me how to pray and truly intercede for the life of this child. Lord, You said in Your Word, "Whatever things you ask in pray, believing, you will receive" (Matthew 21:22). Thank you, Lord, for the precious gift of this child."
This prayer comes for the book titled For This Child I Prayed (written by Stormie Omartian and Illustrations by Susan Rios).
I would also want to add to the prayer: Thank you, Lord, for this child's wonderful birthparents. Thank you for bringing them into our lives and our family!
I purchased this book last July while on a trip to a family reunion in Nebraska not knowing that we were going to be choosen to be parents two weeks later.
What a wonderful year it has been! Matthew is growing WAY to fast.
Only a month before his 1st birthday!
He has been the happiest baby and we have been the happiest family!
PS See his little bruise on his forehead? Those happened last week while we were camping. Oh the burdens of exploring and learning to walk. Mommy kisses make everything better!

Nature & Kids
(okay one little kid and one big kid Hehehe!)
We built our house 4 years ago and are just getting our lawn in this year. It is amazing to watch God's creation work. It started out like this:
(Front Yard View)
We had 5 loads of this beautiful black dirt of God's creation hauled in.
(5 loads + 20 yards each=Lots of work-It took almost the entire month of June to spread)
Black dirt was all spread and packed down (June 29, 2009)
Watering and more watering. Never fails, I always get wet when I move the sprinklers. Scott makes it look so so easy. (July 10, 2009) God has answered my prayers in the last week or so and has sent rain and lots of it.
Scott and Matthew cleaning out the bird bath/pond. Matthew loves being outside so we are glad that we got the lawn in. Even though he still gets plenty dirty from the black dirt where not all the grass seed has taken, he loves to be out there. (July 21, 2009-It had been mowed for the first time a couple days before this picture below had been taken)
Matthew then discovered the rocks! I love how he is studying that rock. Each rock in the bird bath is unique just like each and every one of us. God made us just how he wanted us to be.

As I sit and watch Matthew explore and be curious about everything around him I am often catching myself looking at things from a new perspective and really appreciating and enjoying the simple things in life=God's masterpiece. God's fingerprints are everywhere! Do you see God's fingerprints around you? To see other Fingerprint Fridays or to join in go to Pampering Beki's Blog.
