5 years ago today was the first time that we meet Matthew's birthfather and birthfather's mom. We were able to share the ultrasound pictures with them. It was an emotional time for me! The LSS birthparent worker facilitated the meeting and we each got to tell a little bit about ourselves and our hopes and dreams. It's hard to believe how our relationship has grown and developed over the last 5 years. They are a blessing to us and we are so thankful to have them a part of our life!

It's hard to believe that 5 years ago today, we met Matthew's birthmother and some of her family. For those of you who have not heard our story I'll take a few minutes to share. A good friend of ours from church who knew we were planning our family through adoption called and asked if she could give a young woman our name and number. Of course we said YES! I also told her that I would drop off our profile the next day. The day after I dropped off our profile we got the call! We quickly planned a dinner and had them over. We talked for 6 hours! We were able to feel the baby move and he even had hiccups while we were feeling him move. We were told she had an ultrasound on Thursday of the follow week and we were welcome to come too! I have to be honest. I cried like a baby at the ultrasound! We were told the due date was first part of October! Our little man decided to surprise us all and come about 3 1/2 weeks early on September 8. It is awesome how our relationship with Matthew's birthmother has developed and changed over the years. We have a great relationship with her and her whole family as well as Matthew's birthfather and family.

Matthew was a little mad at the Easter bunny for hiding his basket. He finally found it in the dryer. I think it was worth the frustration when he realized what he got! Just wish the weather would cooperate so we can play with his new glove and t-ball set.
Matthew wanted his tie to look like Daddy's so he had to leave it out of his vest.
He is our handsome little man!!!
Even when he is not smiling!

Just some fun pictures taken in the last few weeks of Matthew. He must be going through a growth spurt because he is eating all the time. The other night he walked away from the table to wash his hands and when he came back out he said he was still hungry. He ate 2 pieces of chicken that night plus some vegetables.
